Councillor Sandra Grant is the Parish Council's representative who regularly attends the Woodbridge Safer Neighbourhood Teams Community Panel Meetings. These meetings are an opportunity for the Parish Council and any resident to attend to raise concerns and have your say as police, partner agency representatives and residents get together to discuss what has been happening in the area recently before deciding what the priorities for action should be.
It is an ideal opportunity to raise any issues affecting your street, or your quality of life to the attention of police to try to address crime and anti-social behaviour as well as other concerns such as parking.
If you have any points you would like Sandra to raise on your behalf with the WSNT regarding community issues within the village, or to find out more information on forthcoming meetings, please contact her on 01473 890232 or 07909920640.
We have a new Police Officer within the WSNT, Joanne Clark who will cover the Otley area with PSCO Sally-Anna Chatten-Berry. PSCO Debbie Howgego will now be the officer covering Otley College. The WSNT can be contacted on 01473 613500 or 101.
The mobile police station will next be in Otley on Thursday 16th October and then Thursday 27th November between 0845 and 0945 hours.
WSNT Safer Neighbourhood Meeting - 29th October
PC Scott Cullum is continuing to monitor both the traffic and student problems in the village. Speeding seems to be a problem with every village and they are doing their best to put measures in place. SAVID, a group Cllr David Hook is our reprsentative for, hopes to purchase speed monitoring equipment that will then be offered to various villages on a rota system. Any continuing problems with students must be reported to WSNT.
Sandra reported that as the meeting was in Orford much discussed wasn't connected to Otley. However 60 to 70 travellers who have had their homes for a long time in Tangham forest, are going to be moved on shortly due to none payment of water that they have been using. They will be looking for another site, so please pass this message on to friends & family that, if you have a meadow or a parcel of land please make sure the entrance is gated and that the gate is padlocked
