Removal of BT Payphone outside Otley Village Stores.
Otley Parish Council have received a letter informing the Councillors of 'a formal consultation process regarding BT's current programme of proposed public payphone removals which affects a pay phone located in your parish'. Suffolk Coastal District Council require opinions of the local community in order to help the decision as to whether the one in Otley should stay or go. More information on the process can be found online- http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/consultations/uso/statement/removals.pdf
Due to phone reception being extremely poor in Otley the current payphone provides a means of communicating outside the village and particularly for use in an emergency. The phone has been used over the last year and in order to maintain its existence residence need to express an opinion of concern about the potential removal. Please contact the Clerk (01473 892109/ rag.designs@hotmail.co.uk) before 20th November 2016 with any opinions residence would like passing on. Alternatively residence can contact SCDC directly before 22nd November 2016, marking all correspondence to Joe Blackmore -Assistant Planning and Enforcement Officer (Central Team).
